Dr. Ziette Hayes, Dean
James T. George School of Business
The James T. George School of Business was founded on the promotion of learning, the development of character, instilling core values (such as respect, integrity, dignity and decency), creating knowledge, and serving society. The School prepares students for positions of leadership and ownership in a global society that is constantly changing and becoming more complex. The School of Business fosters a stimulating intellectual environment where both students and faculty are challenged and motivated to reach their full potential. We produce highly educated graduates characterized by competence, a thirst for knowledge, a performance orientation, and social consciousness.
The School offers baccalaureate degrees in many areas of business including; Accounting, Business Administration, Economics, Innovation & Entrepreneurship, Finance, Management and/or Marketing. These degree programs offer students the opportunity to tailor their course selections to pursue areas of emphasis. Minors are also offered in the fields of Economics, Entrepreneurship, Finance, Management, and Marketing.
The School of Business also offers a Masters in Business Administration, a Masters in Innovation & Entrepreneurship, and the Doctor of Philosophy in Business Administration.
Our environment extends beyond the traditional classroom, creating a relationship-driven ecosystem that develops students academically, professionally, and personally. From their first year, students engage with corporate partners, organizations, and mentorship that build confidence and competence while forming the foundation for leadership. Emphasizing practical preparation, they gain business acumen, technical skills, and real-world industry insight, learning to navigate professional spaces and secure internships. This commitment to experiential learning culminates in a required academic-credit internship, ensuring every graduate leaves with both knowledge and meaningful hands-on experience.
Our faculty reflects both excellence and intentionality. Drawn from diverse cultural and professional backgrounds, they bring richness of perspective that both mirrors and elevates our student community. Nearly all hold terminal degrees, with 90% of full-time faculty possessing doctorates, underscoring a deep commitment to academic rigor and thought leadership. They are not only scholars, but innovators, continually advancing teaching practices, producing meaningful research, and investing in student mentorship.
The James T. George School of Business hosts a diverse range of student-led organizations tailored to specific industries and professional interests. We are dedicated to providing “The Standard of Excellence” by offering a variety of organizations that foster leadership, innovation, and professional growth.
Incoming freshmen are eligible for university-level scholarships at the time of admission, and students with strong high school academic profiles are encouraged to apply early to maximize these opportunities.
In addition to university awards, the JTG School of Business offers donor-funded scholarships to continuing students who demonstrate strong academic performance and business acumen. Information about these opportunities is shared beginning in the freshman year through Canvas and in-building communications, and all eligible students are encouraged to apply.
