Call for Papers
The Hampton University School of Business invites submissions for the Journal of Business and Finance Research (JBFR), a peer-reviewed academic journal covering business disciplines, including management, finance, accounting, and related fields. Established in 2009, JBFR is registered with the Library of Congress (ISSN) and has been under consideration for inclusion in Cabell’s Directory of Publishing Opportunities since 2009.
Scope and Editorial Mission
JBFR publishes empirical and theoretical research that advances business-related disciplines such as management, accounting, marketing, economics, and finance. The journal prioritizes papers of broad relevance to both academia and industry. All submissions undergo a double-blind peer review process. The current acceptance rate is approximately 15–20%, with expectations to decline to 10% over time.
Submission and Review Process
Initial submissions undergo a preliminary review by the Associate Editors. If approved, authors will be invited to formally submit their manuscripts. The review process is expected to take approximately eight weeks. Authors will be notified of the editorial decision upon completion of the review and any required revisions.
Submission Guidelines
Abstract/papers should be submitted via online form [click here]. A tracking number will be issued upon receipt. Manuscripts must adhere to the following format:
- Maximum length: 25 pages (Microsoft Word format, ≤2MB file size)
- Single-spaced text with one-inch margins
- Arial 12-point font, no paragraph indentation (single-line spacing between sections)
- Abstract: 250 words maximum
- Cover page: Includes all contributing faculty members and lead faculty member
- Biographical data: Attached separately; author names must not appear in the manuscript body
- Formulas, tables, and figures: Centered with descriptive titles
- References: No hanging indentation
Upon acceptance, additional formatting may be required by the editorial staff.
