As Hampton University alumni, you are the greatest advocates for our programs. Alumni referrals are a valuable source of qualified applicants because of your unique understanding of the type of student who would thrive here. You know what it takes to be successful in our graduate programs and can articulate what makes Hampton University exceptional. Prospective students are most eager to hear from someone who has experienced and benefited from the journey. We truly value and deeply appreciate your referrals.
About the Alumni Referral Program
The Alumni Referral Reward Program is our way of thanking you for your continued support and for connecting us with qualified prospective students. If you know someone interested in learning more about our programs, simply provide them with the link to the Alumni Referral Program form. You may also reach out to hugrad@hamptonu.edu or call 757-727-5454 with your referrals.
As a token of our appreciation, Hampton University will gift a tote bag to alumni who refer a prospective student who ultimately enrolls. If alumni refer five prospective students who ultimately enroll, then they will receive a blanket. For ten successful referrals, alumni will receive a tumbler set and special recognition from the University.
Here is how it works
- If you have a friend, relative, or colleague who might be interested in Hampton University, participating is as easy as providing them with an Alumni Referral Form and encouraging them to complete the form. You may also reach out to hugrad@hamptonu.edu or call 757-727-5454 with your referrals.
- Once we receive their referral, we will contact the individual via email and phone to discuss their interests further regarding graduate school.
- If that person(s) goes on to be accepted and enrolls, you will receive one of the gifts described above. There is no limit on the number of referrals you are allowed.

Complete our Graduate College Student Spotlight FORM. Your nomination must be a current Hampton University Graduate College Student or alumni. Students can be nominated for being a student leader, recent accomplishments, volunteer work, community work, etc. Candidates that are selected will be featured on the Hampton University Graduate College Social Media accounts (Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, and LinkedIn).
