Because of the foundation I received at the JTG School of Business, I was able to excel early in my career. As early as my freshman summer, I earned an internship at Fortress Investment Group an opportunity that reflected the preparation, discipline, and confidence Hampton instilled in me. That momentum continued with internships at Credit Suisse and ultimately led to a full-time offer at UBS.

One of the most impactful experiences during my time at Hampton was leading the Student Managed Investment Fund. In this role, I sharpened my pitching skills, learned how to clearly articulate an investment thesis, and developed the ability to confidently defend my ideas in professional settings. This experience played a major role in shaping my technical skill set and preparing me for high-pressure environments in the financial industry.

Beyond technical knowledge, the JTG School of Business taught me how to hustle, how to carry myself professionally in any room, and how to move with confidence. Opportunities such as leading the Student Managed Investment Fund and participating in High School Day allowed me to grow as both a leader and a representative of the Hampton community.

Overall, my experience at Hampton University was transformative. The lessons, discipline, and confidence I gained there continue to shape how I show up professionally today. The James T. George School of Business didn’t just prepare me for my first role it provided a foundation I continue to rely on throughout my career. As an alumnus, I am proud to be part of a global Hampton network that continues to open doors, foster meaningful connections, and reinforce the values instilled in me during my time on campus.
