Alicia Coles is a proud alumna of the Hampton University School of Counseling, where she earned her Master of Arts degree. She is pursuing her Doctorate in Behavioral Health (DBH), specializing in the mental health of women of color at Cummings Graduate Institute for Behavioral Health Studies. With a prosperous 30-year career in education, Ms. Coles has been actively involved in higher education administration and teaching, where she empowers students to challenge the status quo, think globally, and respond to the evolving demands of healthcare. Visitors to her classroom might describe her teaching style as constructivist, as she believes that individuals actively construct knowledge and that understanding is an adaptive process that shapes a person’s experiential world. Ms. Coles is a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc.
