The Naval Science program at Hampton University gives you a powerful launch point for a career of service as a Navy or Marine Corps officer. As part of one of the largest Naval Reserve Officer Training Corps (NROTC) units in the nationārepresenting more than 170 Sailors, Marines, and Midshipmenāyou’ll train in a highly motivated community focused on excellence, discipline, and leadership. Located near the worldās largest naval base, the program integrates classroom instruction, physical training, and hands-on experiences that prepare you to lead confidently on the sea, in the air, and on shore.

While your primary mission in Naval Science is to prepare for commissioned service, you also engage in serious academic and professional study that strengthens your decision-making and leadership. Through coursework, projects, and case studies, you’ll explore naval history and heritage, maritime strategy, leadership and ethics, naval operations, and the role of emerging technologies in modern warfare and security.
