Graduate Admissions Counselor

The Graduate Admissions Counselor receives, processes, and manages admission applications for all main campus graduate programs. In addition, the Graduate Admissions Counselor addresses all inquiries from prospective M.A., M.S., and Ph.D. applicants and ensures quality and accuracy of data management to support the admissions and enrollment process. The Admissions Counselor reports directly to the Graduate Admissions Coordinator.

  • Assist with meeting or exceeding recruitment goals for graduate programs by providing excellent customer service to prospective students through effective outreach and follow-up.
  • Through extensive phone and email contact, guide prospective students through the admissions application process up to the point of enrollment.
  • Meet with prospective graduate students, visitors, and constant communication with Graduate Program Coordinators.
  • Must possess public relations skills with internal departments and external community.
  • Highly skilled with processing of documents and applications for graduate programs. BANNER Admission Database Management and CRM interaction will be highly involved.
  • Complete knowledge of FERPA requirements and an understanding of the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDRP)
  • Must have complete knowledge of International Graduate Admission processes and procedures.
  • Record and process graduate application fees.
  • Generate enrollment management reports to be used for analysis to determine effectiveness and efficiency of procedures and admission tracking/trends.
  • Work closely with the Graduate Admissions Coordinator to perform other duties as assigned.
  • Interact with students, faculty, and staff in a courteous and professional manner.
  • Required NAGAP membership – the Association for Graduate Enrollment Management.
  • Required SLATE, BANNER, and ARGOS training.
