Minor in Material Science and Engineering
Minor in Material Science and Engineering
The overall goal of the PREM program is to serve as a catalyst for the recruitment and retention of talented students pursuing research careers in science and engineering fields. Currently, the PREM program is achieving one of its goals by providing students from the School of Engineering and Technology and the School of Science with undergraduate research experiences related to photonic materials. In addition to the stated goal of providing students with research experiences, the PREM program seeks to increase the number of under-represented minority STEM graduates by developing multidisciplinary education programs and activities that address retention problems faced by chemistry, engineering and physics students.
The minor in Material Science and Engineering includes courses from chemistry, engineering, and physics. The course offering is in alignment with one of our university goals of strengthening the quality of our academic programs with diverse curriculum offerings.
