Across Borders Forum

The Across Borders Forum is an engagement event for international student inclusion. On November 4th, 2024, international students from Germany and Russia came together with study abroad students back from Panama, France, London, Ireland and South Korea. Conversation ranged from opinions on buildings, career opportunities, conservatism, friendliness, attitudes, self-care practices to details on self -discovery.

The panel format was an opportunity to discuss international student experience and perspectives with peers that have studied abroad as Global Citizens. At the event international students were able to lead the discussion and make their mark at HU. Students were fielded questions about their goals for travel, and adjusted goals since traveling. They were also asked questions about cultural shock from the audience and other panelist.

Insights from the day were given by: Heaven Hymes, Vernon Jones, Chastity St. John, Anaiyah Watson, Naiyana Willams, Kiana Bernard, Avery John and Diana Starodubtseva. As a result, the International Office would like to give a huge thank you to the participating student panelist. We also thank International Faculty who came in support for their growing community and The William R. Harvey Leadership Institute’s Dr. Jarris Louis Taylor who committed leadership students to join the audience.
