The International Office at Hampton University offers a range of services to assist J-1 visa holders:
- Visa Processing and Maintenance: Helping with the initial application for the J-1 visa, maintaining visa status, and providing alerts for important deadlines.
- Orientation and Integration: Conducting orientation sessions to help J-1 visa holders acclimate to the university and local community.
- Advising Services: Offering ongoing support and advising on academic, personal, and immigration-related matters.
- Program Extensions and Transfers: Assisting with the extension of stay and transfer processes if needed.
- Cultural Exchange Programs: Organizing events and activities to promote cultural exchange and integration

The prospective student completes regular application (undergrad or graduate) and note in the “major section” that they are a non-degree seeking student.
