Spring Study Abroad Fair

At last, March 17th, 2025, the International Office held the Spring Study Abroad Fair. The Fair had 2 other February dates but had to be rescheduled due to unusual snow days in Southeastern Virginia. Though there was a slight decrease in vendor participation, 9- providers showed their dedication to serving Hampton University’s student body earlier this week with their presence.
Through the inclement weather 2- providers, World Endeavors and American University Richmond London tabled and toured campus at the 12pm campus opening. They were present though the fair was postponed twice. Our office is very appreciative of their efforts. Their support is a nod to the importance of study abroad fairs for students’ futures.
‘Study Abroad’ equals more career opportunities and having a stellar student experience while earning course credit. This is apparent in the plethora of study abroad options: like internships abroad, teach abroad for graduating seniors, taking classes abroad for a semester or year and faculty led clinical trips options, and department led trips. All of these options are on display at these fairs. Better still the International Office also displays the administrative process of onboarding students to join these activities at the fair.
Also, at the fair students learn that financing these activities are not out of reach for average students and are heavily subsidized for students in indigent circumstances. All in all, the Spring 2025 fair was ultimately successful, and the event proved resilient with the attendance of both providers and students.
Thank you to all attendees and a special thank you to KEI, TEAN, ASA, SFS, John Cabot University: Italy, NYFA, AIFS, Arcadia Abroad, and USAC for your support on March 17th.
