installment Payment Plan Option

Hampton University Installment Payment Plan (HIPP)

The Hampton University Installment Payment Plan (HIPP) is available for Fall and Spring semesters to assist students and families in meeting payment requirements by the deadlines listed on the Student Business Services Calendar.

Enrollment Requirements

To enroll in HIPP, you must:

  1. Complete the Installment Payment Plan application.

  2. Accept the plan’s Terms and Conditions.

  3. Pay the $50.00 non-refundable enrollment fee.

Plan Features

  • Covers tuition, fees, and books (if covered by financial aid).

  • Installment amounts automatically adjust when new eligible charges or credits (including payments and financial aid) are applied.

  • Balances in TouchNet recalculate overnight. If changes aren’t visible immediately, check again in 24 hours.

  • No adjustments are made to monthly installments within three (3) days of a due date. Any changes will be reflected in the following month’s payment.


Fall Semester Schedule

  • Plan Opens: July

  • Initial Payment Due: August 1

  • Remaining Payments Due: September 1, October 1, and November 1

Spring Semester Schedule

  • Plan Opens: November

  • Initial Payment Due: Mid-December

  • Remaining Payments Due: January, February, March, and April (specific dates posted on the Student Business Services Calendar)


Important Notes

  • All discounts, waivers, third-party payments (employer tuition assistance, prepaid programs, etc.), and financial aid (including loans) must be applied toward tuition/fees before an Installment Payment Plan will be approved.

  • Financial aid or credits received after the initial payment will be applied to the remaining balance, and future installments will be recalculated.

  • Refunds will not be issued until all fees are paid in full.


How to Enroll in HIPP

  1. Log In: https://piratepay.hamptonu.edu/C20086_tsa/web/login.jsp

    • Select Student and Staff

    • Enter Student User ID and PIN

    • For Authorized Users: Enter Email and Password

  2. Navigate to Your Account:

    • Main Menu → Student → My Account

    • Under “My Profile” select Student Account

    • Click Make Payments

  3. Select Payment Plan:

    • Go to Payment Plans → Click Enroll Now

    • Select the Term from the drop-down menu

    • Choose the available payment plan

  4. Review and Confirm:

    • View eligible charges, credits, and anticipated aid (listed under “Anticipated Aid/Sch”)

    • Choose payment method: Automatic or Manual monthly payments

    • Review payment schedule and agreement

    • Select I agree to the Terms & Conditions

    • Submit to receive confirmation of enrollment
