Deborah Flippens has been a professional communicator for more than 20 years, with several years of teaching experience (face-to-face and online) of courses in Journalism and Communications at Elizabeth City State University (North Carolina) and Hampton University. She holds a Master of Arts degree in Mass Communications (Broadcast Administration) from Norfolk State University and a Bachelor of Science degree in Journalism/Mass Communications (Print) from Florida A&M University. Some of her writing experiences include developing promotion and publicity articles and newsletters for the ECSU University Relations and Marketing Department. She also wrote and established policy and procedure manuals for the operation of technical and videoconferencing equipment for the North Carolina Research and Education Network (NC-REN).
