The Administrative Assistant will provide administrative and clerical support to the Office of the Executive Vice President and Provost. The successful candidate also serves as the office manager and reports to the Executive Vice President and Provost.

Duties and Responsibilities

The duties listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required for this position. Therefore, the successful candidate will be expected to:

  • Serve as the primary Administrative Assistant to the Executive Vice President and Provost;
  • Coordinate and manage the Executive Vice President and Provost’s calendar;

Qualifications

The successful candidate must possess the ability to:

  • Type with an adjusted speed of at least 55 wpm;
  • Communicate effectively both orally and in writing with a wide variety of constituencies including faculty, staff, students, and the public;
  • Deliver strong customer service;

Administrative Assistant
Hampton University School of Pharmacy is seeking a Administrative Assistant to provide quality administrative support in a fast-paced environment. This position provides vital administrative and clerical support to the School of Pharmacy and Office of Student Affairs and serves as the Administrative Assistant to the Assistant Dean of Student Affairs and Assessment. The Administrative Assistant will be responsible for responding to student, faculty and administrative inquiries related to School activities including degree requirements, course scheduling, classroom assignments, instructor assignments, and student enrollment. The Administrative Assistant will also be responsible for greeting visitors to the School, entering applications for admission into the applicant database, responding to student inquiries, and assisting with recruitment activities and School of Pharmacy events. The Administrative Assistant will also be responsible for budgetary procurement of office supplies and school-related travel arrangements. The successful candidate will be professional, customer service oriented, and skilled at multi-tasking.

CARPENTER

The Hampton University School of Pharmacy is seeking a Coordinator of Assessment who will work collaboratively with the Assistant Dean of Student Affairs and Assessment. This person will design, implement, organize, coordinate, and analyze programmatic, curricular, and student outcome components of the academic programs in the School of Pharmacy. The Coordinator of Assessment reports directly to the Assistant Dean of Student Affairs and Assessment in the School of Pharmacy.

Counter Clerk
The Counter clerk is responsible for taking money in the form of cash, check, or credit card from patrons in exchange for dry cleaning services. Tag and bag items, provides change, balances drawer, and processes card/cash transactions. To ensure excellent customer service and assist with the garment handling before and after the garments are cleaned and pressed.
Job Duties:
* Handle cash/credit transactions with customers using cash registers
* Receive items from customers and mark them with codes or names

The Director of Athletic Academic Support/Life Skills will lead the academic support services for Hampton University student-athletes. This position is responsible for the organization, implementation and evaluation of academic support programming, advising, mentoring and academic progress monitoring for the assigned student-athlete caseload. Director of Athletic Academic Support/Life Skills

The Director of Athletic Academic Support/Life Skills will lead the academic support services for Hampton University student-athletes. This position is responsible for the organization, implementation and evaluation of academic support programming, advising, mentoring and academic progress monitoring for the assigned student-athlete caseload. Must have the ability to manage a small staff.

Dispatcher
Provide information and communication support services. Performs all phases of Communications to include: Call Taker, and Police Telecommunications. This position is non-exempt.
Job Duties:
Performs duties under the direct supervision of the Communications Supervisor. Duties will be performed in the Communications Centers which operate on a 24-hour basis. Personnel are assigned to an eight-hour shift which may require working nights, weekends, and holidays. Personnel are required to work in situations of extreme stress (to include natural and man-made disasters). Knows how to identify types of emergency vehicles and equipment, response ability of fire stations, police districts, and response level of complaints.
Maintains wrecker lists, learns to use premise listings of buildings in CADS to respond to emergency calls after regular business hours. Knows how to use street indexing. Notifies public utility agencies of interruption of services to the campus. Maintains a variety of logs and records, as necessary.

Maintains police unit status in CADS.

Develop and manage the University’s environmental health and safety (EH&S) programs and policies to advance the health and safety of the University Community. Serve as the hazardous materials technical expert and respond to inquiries from the University faculty, staff, and students, regulatory agencies, or other enterprises regarding hazardous materials at the University, and resulting EH&S effects. * Prepare status reports on current EH&S programs and activities.

Medical Director

Hampton University is seeking a physician to become the medical director of the Student Health Center. The Director balances clinical and administrative duties, guides decisions regarding campus-wide prevention and wellness initiatives.

The Director of the Student Health Center must have strong clinical skills, compassion, and interpersonal skills. As a member of the Student Leadership Development Team, the Medical Director will enjoy strong strategic partnerships with supportive colleagues across the campus.

The Director reports to Vice President for Administrative Services and has responsibility for the strategic leadership, management, and day-to-day operations and administration of student health services. This is a full-time, 12-month position. After hours, weekend consultation (support for on-call team) and emergency response is required, as needed.

Responsibilities:

* Advise the administration and campus regarding health care issues and polices related to the health of students and employees

* Perform the duties of Laboratory Director with regular quality assurance oversight. Must complete certification process within one month of hiring date
* Provide clinical care to students, and provides referrals for workmen’s compensation to employees, maintains electronic medical records; ensures timely documentation

* Provide clinical supervision and consultation for mid-level staff; available after hours and weekends for consultation, and ensures compliance with nurse practitioner agreements

* Advise the administration and campus regarding surveillance of potential and actual public health threats to the campus community

* Ensure the design, delivery, and assessment of effective prevention/wellness programs to reduce barriers to learning and support student success; work with the health team to plan impactful events
* Work with internal and external partners for health-related activities, and screening events
* Maintain and enhance institutional relationships with state, county, and local healthcare resources
* Collaborate with University faculty, staff and students to identify clinical issues of concern for research and grant opportunities

Qualifications:
Graduation from an accredited School of Medicine.
Experience and Board Certified in areas of Family Practice or General/Internal Medicine.
Current licensure to practice medicine in the Commonwealth of Virginia.

* Knowledge of best practice standards in primary health/urgent care and college health.

Night Desk Monitor
The Night Desk Monitor serves as an evening monitor of the lobby, office and general facilities in residence halls where the office or reception desk remains open on a twenty-four (24) hour basis. The shift runs from midnight to 8:00 a.m. This is not a live-in, residential position.
Duties and Responsibilities
* Answer the office telephone, take messages, transfer calls, and insure that the office phone is only used for official business.
* Maintain the desk log with updates, messages, problems encountered, unusual events or person(s) observed in the area, unlocked doors, names and circumstances of any incidents or accidents, emergencies, or maintenance concerns that need to be addressed by the Residence Hall Director (RHD) the next day. (RHD will also indicate other matters to be entered in the log.)
* Greet visitors and check ID cards of all persons seeking entrance to the building to determine if they are residents.
* Monitor and maintain proper lobby decorum and noise levels.
* Issue spare room key to residents (only) that have been locked out.
* Contact University Police immediately or as directed.
* Conduct “rounds” of the facility to check exit doors, general condition of lighting, fixtures, vending equipment, safety equipment, noise levels and other conditions within the residence hall.
* Respond to emergency situations or refer major problems to the RHD or staff member who is on duty or on call in the building.
* Receive written complaints about money lost in vending equipment or equipment that is broken – kept in a separate vending log.

Dispatcher (Part-Time)

Provide information and communication support services. Performs all phases of Communications to include: Call Taker, and Police Telecommunications.

Job Duties:

Performs duties under the direct supervision of the Communications Supervisor. Duties will be performed in the Communications Centers which operate on a 24-hour basis. PC Technician
The Center for Information Technology (CIT)/Academic Technology Mall (ATM) IT Specialist provides technical, administrative support for the enterprise-wide network at Hampton University and its various schools and departments. This role is responsible for supporting the ATM Help Desk’s student. The PC Technician is responsible for assisting in daily help desk duties by providing excellent customer service to students, faculty, and staff. Under general supervision, patrol the campus by foot and/or vehicle to prevent crime or disturbances of businesses and persons within the University.
