Biography

Dr. Amanda B. Firoved, PhD, MOT, OTR/L, CLT, is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Sports Science and Wellness at Hampton University, as well as an occupational therapist and researcher. She earned her PhD in Kinesiology and Rehabilitation from Old Dominion University and brings extensive clinical experience into her teaching and scholarship. Her research interests include human movement, gait and biomechanics, walking assistive devices, functional mobility, fall prevention, rehabilitation, and health promotion across the lifespan. Dr. Firoved has contributed to peer-reviewed research published in Arthroscopy, Arthroscopy, Sports Medicine, and Rehabilitation, The Journal of Knee Surgery, and JSES International. Her teaching emphasizes evidence-based practice and the practical application of kinesiology, health, rehabilitation, and human performance to improve health, participation, and quality of life.
