Dr. Kyshawn Smith

Dr. ‘Shawn K. Smith is a Criminologist and Associate Professor in the Department of Sociology, Criminal Justice and Homeland Security at Hampton University.  He specializes in research and pedagogical activity in spatial criminology, cybervictimization theory, cybercrime policy reform, and advanced research procedures. He has published research in numerous academic journals and anthologies and is the co-author of Cybercrime and Digital Deviance (2nd Edition) — currently scheduled for reissue in 2026 as an Open Education Resource text under grant funding through the Virtual Library of Virginia (VIVA) Open Course Grant.
