Dr. Khadijeh Salimi

Biography

Dr. Khadijeh Salimi is an Assistant Professor of Political Science specializing in comparative political behavior and gender politics. Her research employs diverse methodological approaches including computational modeling and simulation, survey analysis, historical case studies, and interviews. Her scholarship has been published in journals such as System Research and Behavioral Science, Journal of Policy and Complex Systems, Journal of Politics and Law, and Systems.

She is currently pursuing three major research projects. Her work on the mandate of arts during collective action is funded by the American Political Science Association. She is also conducting a study of Middle Eastern diaspora in U.S. higher education. Additionally, she is completing a book manuscript titled Modeling Norm Evolution: An Empirical and Computational Study of Social Dynamics of Human Behavior, which introduces an emerging theoretical modeling methodology for social sciences.

Dr. Salimi teaches courses on Politics of the Middle East and North Africa (MENA), Ethnic Conflict, Gender and Politics in the MENA, Global Gender Issues, Political Science, Comparative Politics, Politics of Africa, and Statistics.
