Wyvetter H. Younge was a dedicated former member of the Illinois House of Representatives, representing the 114th District from 1975 until 2008. She also served as the Assistant Majority Leader later in her career. Younge was also a former Assistant Circuit Attorney for the City of St. Louis. Rep. Younge also received the “Best Legislator” award from the UAW in 1993. On August 3, 2022, the East St. Louis Higher Education Campus in East St. Louis, Illinois was renamed in Younge’s honor, becoming the Wyvetter H. Younge Higher Education Campus.
