Dietra Trent is a respected leader in higher education and public policy. She served as the Virginia Secretary of Education under Governor Terry McAuliffe. She was also the Deputy Secretary of Education for Virginia from 2006 to 2010 and again from 2014 to 2016. Trent also served in several leadership positions at George Mason University, including chief of staff and interim VP for Compliance, Diversity, and Ethics and was the Former Executive Director for the White House Initiative on HBCUs in the Biden Administration.
