Sylvia Woody Rose, Esq. has served as a Dean and Assistant Professor of Finance in the School of Business at Hampton University, where she also earned her B.S. in Finance before obtaining her Juris Doctor from Georgetown University Law School. A member of the Virginia State Bar, Dean Rose was formerly General Counsel for Hampton University and a Financial Advisor/Broker at Merrill Lynch. Her contributions to Hampton include serving on the Board of Trustees, leading SACS committees, securing a $500K Financial Literacy Grant, advising student organizations, and publishing in The Journal of Business and Finance Research. She is also a recipient of the Hampton University E.L. Hamm Distinguished Teaching Award.
