The Hampton University Police Department is continuously seeking qualified applicants to fill available and future openings for Police and Security Officers.

Minimum requirements for Police Officer

• US Citizen
• 21 years of age
• High school diploma
• Valid Virginia driver’s license
• Pass a physical agility test
• Pass a polygraph examination
• Pass a psychological examination
• *Successfully complete the Hampton Roads Regional Academy of Criminal Justice*
• *All applicants will undergo a thorough background investigation and substance abuse screening*

Minimum Requirements for Security Officer

• US citizen
• 21 years of age
• High School Diploma
• *Successfully complete the Security Officer State Certification*
• *All applicants will undergo a thorough background investigation and substance abuse screening*
