HAMPTON UNIVERSITY POLICE DEPARTMENT
FIRE SAFETY
Each on-campus student housing facility is equipped with a fire safety system. Most facilities are equipped with fire monitor panels that directly communicate to the University Police Department. A complete description of the fire safety system for each facility can be viewed on the right. Anyone discovering a fire or other safety concerns should contact the University Police Department at extension 5300.
Hampton University Fire Marshall and Residence Life Staff conduct one fire drill during each semester at each on-campus student housing facility to ensure the system is functioning properly and to educate students and staff how to safely evacuate a facility in case of a fire or other emergency. Fire and Safety training is also available upon request to all on-campus departments.
