Hampton University Students Participate in Stavros Niarchos Foundation Ithaca National Student Dialogue at the Biden School of Public Policy & Administration

Jade AbuBakr, first-year strategic communication student and Logan Russell, second-year journalism student attended the Stavros Niarchos Foundation Ithaca National Student Dialogue at the Biden School of Public Policy and Administration from March 24 – 26 in Delaware. The students were accompanied by faculty advisor Dr. James Ford, for the forum addressing “Trust and Truth: Confronting Anti-Intellectualism Through Civil Discourse.”   

“The SNF Ithaca Initiative is rooted in a commitment to understanding and exploring civil discourse as a form of civic engagement in the mediated public square and its role in and relationship to democratic public policy making,” according to Pablo I. McConnie-Saad, program manager, SNF Ithaca Initiative Biden Institute.

A mix of nearly 80 undergraduate and graduate students from 40 top colleges and universities nationwide participated in this event, which aims to support a healthy democracy by advancing civil discourse and civic engagement in the United States.
