Prudential Makes $10,000 Gift to Hampton University for Student Scholarships

HAMPTON, VA (Sept. 30, 2022) — The Prudential Foundation has awarded Hampton University a gift in the amount of $10,000. The funds will be used to provide student scholarship support.

The donation was presented during the Hamptonians on the Vineyard event, which alumni organize annually during the month of August to raise funding for the University.   

Hampton President Darrell K. Williams said, “The alumni of Hampton University are among the greatest anywhere. Their devotion, dedication, and support of this institution is tremendous and is greatly appreciated. The organizers of this fundraiser are using their contacts to ensure Hampton remains great, and I will forever be grateful for supportive leaders like these.” 

Kirsten Roach, co-chair of the Martha’s Vineyard event as well as co-chair of the 2022 Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated fundraising effort for Hampton said, “We are delighted to support our alma mater through these fundraising efforts. Without the experience we received at Hampton, many of us would not be where we are today. Go, Pirates!”
