The Pirate Shuttle is Hampton University’s shuttle bus service that provides students with valid id and PiratePay accounts the ability to purchase rides to and from campus to select locations

The Pirate Shuttle is available on weekends during periods that the campus is open

Friday: 6:00 PM – 11:00 PM
Saturday: 1:00 PM – 11:00 PM
Sunday: 2:00 PM – 7:00 PM

Shuttle Details:

  • Shuttle pick-up and drop-off is located at the HU Cafeteria Entrance. Students must have at least $4.00
    on their Pirate Power Card to make a round trip.

    Each ride costs $2.00. No cash will be accepted.Destinations:

    Regular stops include Peninsula Town Center, Wal-Mart, and Walgreens.

  • Special Events: Additional complimentary shuttles run during campus events like Homecoming and gamedays connecting to spots like Darling Stadium or the Hampton Coliseum.

Service Resume Friday Sept 4th, 2026 at 6pm.  The Pirate Shuttle be available during weekends while classes are in session.

The cost to ride the shuttle is $2.00 and should be paid from the Student Power Card.  

Boarding the Shuttle will cost $2.00 and this will take you to any stop along the route. If you depart the shuttle you will need to pay $2.00 to re-board. 

Scheduling a ride or reservation in advance is not available

You are required to show valid Hampton University ID and have available funds in PiratePower to complete the purchase.
