“Hampton University is on a forward-moving trajectory, and I’m honored to be recognized alongside so many remarkable leaders in Coastal Virginia,” said President Williams. “This recognition is a testament to the hard work of our students, faculty, and staff who make Hampton the standard of excellence.”

Joining President Williams on this esteemed list is Maurice Pierce, the director of Hampton University’s celebrated Track & Field program. Coach Pierce has built a dynasty of speed, endurance, and excellence at the university. With over 26 years of leading Hampton’s Track & Field program, Pierce has produced over 34 team championships, more than 33 Division I All American athletes, and six Olympians. “This recognition goes beyond me—it’s about the incredible student-athletes who push their limits every day and represent Hampton with pride,” said Coach Pierce. “Our track program continues to thrive, and I’m excited about the future of our team.”

Hampton University’s track and field program has seen remarkable growth and success.
