Employer Satisfaction and Stakeholder Involvement

Measure 2:
The Employer Survey demonstrates both face and content validity, established through meticulous alignment with reputable research on completer performance as identified in the Guidelines for Uniform Performance Standards and Evaluation Criteria for Teachers. The Guidelines provide a uniform approach to teacher evaluation used throughout the Commonwealth of Virginia.  The data acknowledges the low response rates for the three cycles of employer survey data.  The EPP recognizes that 90% of its completers do not reside in Virginia.  The majority of the completers are either employed uniformly in either the elementary or secondary settings. The data in some instances did not differentiate whether music education completers were classified as K-12 or secondary, and depending on the physical building they can be classified as either elementary or secondary.  The school demographics reflect that completers were working in high-needs schools thereby meeting the needs of the community. The data also reflects that completers were rated highly on the 8 measures established by the State and thereby meet the competencies established on pages 9-14 of the standards.
