Behavior Health and Intervention Team
The Behavioral Health and Intervention Team (BHIT) is an interdepartmental working group that receives and responds to situations where a person of concern could possibly result in harm to anyone at the University. With a multidisciplinary and holistic approach, the BHIT provides a centralized and coordinated assessment and intervention process to identify and aid University community members displaying troubling or disruptive behaviors, prior to the onset of crisis, in an effort to promote a safer campus community. Any member of the University community may refer concern for or with an individual’s behavior to the BHIT. The Behavioral Health and Intervention Team (BHIT) will develop an action plan based upon information available.
Our Mission
The Behavioral Health and Intervention Team (BHIT) exists to support students and the greater University community. Our Team identifies resources and appropriate interventions for University community members experiencing a crisis. The BHIT is committed to improving campus safety and security by proactively and collaboratively identifying, assessing and managing situations that pose, or may reasonably pose, a threat to the safety and well-being of the University community or any of its members.
