Electrical and Computer Engineering

Welcome to the Department of Electrical & Computer Engineering
The Department of Electrical & Computer Engineering (ECE) in the School of Engineering, Architecture, and Aviation at Hampton University offers an intellectually vibrant environment where theory meets hands-on design. Our programs blend rigorous technical training with a strong liberal-arts foundation to prepare engineers who lead in a rapidly evolving world.
Our mission is to educate and inspire future engineers with the skills and vision to solve global challenges β€” from energy sustainability to cybersecurity, autonomous systems, and artificial intelligence.

Whether you’re building embedded devices, designing smart grids, or developing next-generation computing systems, Hampton’s ECE programs provide the foundation to create, lead, and innovate.

Our students design, develop, operate, and maintain the technology that drives our world today and that will shape it tomorrow. We are committed to providing a high-quality engineering education, and our faculty members are dedicated to student learning and actively involved in research to advance engineering practice.

Why Choose ECE at Hampton?
