Bachelor of Science in Computer Engineering

For those considering a career in Computer Engineering, our undergraduate program offers a broad foundation and inspiration for our students to create and innovate, and helps them develop the required problem solving skills for a successful career in any of the today’s computer engineering areas. Our Computer Engineering program focuses on hardware, and whether you want to build computers or develop the hardware that drives the communication networks or mobile products of tomorrow, or study the microprocessors, this program will put you on the path for a fascinating engineering career that will provide for numerous opportunities to make positive impact as a professional computer engineer.

“Computer engineers design, develop, test, and evaluate computer hardware and related equipment, software programs, and systems. They apply computer science, engineering, and mathematical analysis in designing hardware, software, and networks. They also solve technical problems. The work of computer engineers is similar to that of electronics engineers in that they may design and test circuits and other electronic components; however, computer hardware engineers do that work only as it relates to computers and computer-related equipment. The rapid advances in computer technology are largely a result of the research, development, and design efforts of these engineers.”

Our Mission

The mission of the Computer Engineering program is to provide a state-of-the-art, academically enriched environment for students such that they will acquire the knowledge necessary for entry-level positions as professional engineers and/or for graduate school. Along with a technical education, our graduates are prepared to cultivate a capacity for creative and dynamic problem solving, and to foster a desire to contribute to the culture and society in which they live. The Computer Engineering program educates problem solvers with a high level of technological competency and social responsibility. Furthermore, all students will have developed the skills and acquired the basic knowledge necessary to be successful in graduate study or for the entry-level positions as computer engineers.
