MuzataHeadshot

BIO

Tanyaradzwa “Tanya” Muzata is an Assistant Professor in the Chemical Engineering Department at Hampton University. Dr. Muzata obtained his Bachelor of Technology in Chemical and Process Systems Engineering at Harare Institute of Technology. He received his Master of Technology in Polymer Technology at Delhi Technological University and Ph.D. in Materials Engineering at the Indian Institute of Science. Dr. Muzata was a lecturer and later Chairperson of the Polymer Technology Department at Harare Institute of Technology. Before joining Hampton University as an Assistant Professor, Dr. Muzata was a Postdoctoral fellow in the School of Packaging at Michigan State University. His research area is in polymer processing, mainly focusing on the structure-property correlation of multi-phasic polymeric nanomaterial-filled systems, the development of sustainable technology for upcycling post-consumer waste plastics, and the rheology of multiphasic systems. Dr. Muzata has published his work in numerous journals and has two existing patents, one recently filed. He has presented his research work at international conferences in Singapore, UAE, and South Africa.
