Dr. Ikem Uba is the Chair of the Electrical and Computer Engineering Department. With background in physics and electrical engineering, his research spans the spectrum of materials science, condensed matter physics, electronic device development and failure analysis. Before joining the department as faculty, he was research assistant professor in the Hampton-Brandeis Partnership for Research and Education in Materials (PREM), where he contributed to developing materials for integrated photonics, LEDs and biomedical systems. Dr. Uba’s current research is targeted at engineering electro-magneto and spin properties of semiconductors and composites for device applications. He is a member of the American Physical Society (APS).
