The School of Engineering and Technology faculty believe that in order to spark an interest in engineering disciplines and to build a sustainable pipeline of students, it is essential to reach out to them as early as possible and introduce them to engineering experiences. The activities of the outreach component of the School target local communities and schools to provide the necessary faculty expertise to future students and help them make meaningful connections between the in-class curricula and the real world applications.
These outreach activities help prepare young students for their future success in college, assist them in choosing the best career option and ensure their continued interest in the engineering and technology field. By coordinating and advising students from the young age, the School of Engineering and Technology faculty and staff is committed to improving the educational experience for K-12 students and building a strong Engineering pipeline.
