The Department of English and Foreign Languages continues to build internship opportunities for its majors throughout the world.

SPANISH

The Department of English and Foreign Languages, through its Spanish major, has an agreement with the Hispanic Chamber of Commerce in Coastal Virginia. Under this agreement students may enroll in SPA 440 Experiential Learning and work as interns in some of the Hispanic companies in the area. The department adapts his/her major interest to the company. For example, this semester we have a Psychology major (and Spanish minor) student working as an intern in a Psychology office in Hampton. SPA 440 does not have any prerequisite requirements; it is, however, intended for Spanish minors, since these companies are generally managed by Hispanics and require some Spanish-speaking interaction.
