The mission of the areas in the Department of Fine and Performing Arts is in concert with the mission of the University and the School of Liberal Arts and Education by providing academic and curricular experiences that train students to:

a) establish a professional attitude;
b) assume responsibility;
c) gain personal self-confidence;
d) develop a humanistic attitude toward life;
e) become proficient in their area of arts specialization;
f) value the contributions of diverse cultures and
g) contribute positively to the world around them.
