The Department of Electrical & Computer Engineering in the School of Engineering, Architecture and Aviation provides students with technical preparation, combined with a strong liberal arts background, required for successful careers in engineering. Engineers design, develop, operate, and maintain the technology that drives our world today and that will shape it tomorrow. We are committed to providing a high quality engineering education for all of its students, and our faculty members are dedicated to student learning and are actively involved in research to advance engineering practice. While students spend most of their time on the beautiful campus of Hampton University, Hampton Roads extends from the historic sites of Williamsburg, Jamestown, and Yorktown to the sand dunes of Virginia Beach with cultural and entertainment activities of the Virginia Symphony, the Virginia Opera, Ferguson Center for the Arts, Chrysler Museum, the Hampton Coliseum, etc. in Norfolk, Hampton and Newport News. There is much to see and do.
